TBS (Fisher Healthcare) Tissue Floatation Bath

$395.00

Tissue flotation bath is required after the step of cutting paraffin sections and before theseare placed on slides. It lets tissues relax and smoothen before being mounted on slide as well as makes paraffin stick to the slide. This ensures removal of wrinkles and folds before sections are placed on the slide.

Water baths are filled with distilled water, heated to a temperature 5-10° C below the melting point of paraffin, and the water bath is usually kept at 40-50° C.

  • Microprocessor-controlled heating from ambient to 65°C

  • High contrast background illuminated by a bright LED array provides optimal specimen viewing

  • Removable glass dish permits easy cleaning

  • Scratch-, heat- and chemical-resistant plastic housing

  • Magnetic on/off switch addresses reliability issues of competitive mechanical switches

Additional Features of Floatation Work Stations

  • 2 × 8 in. convection slide dryer

  • 2 × 2 in. HISTO/Orientator eliminates wrinkles

The compact sized tissue baths maintain sample integrity for longer periods of time before experiments are conducted. Used in various field laboratories, the insulated chambers prepare sample sections, eliminate distortions, and measure the in vitro response to introduced substances. Easy-to-set level controls and sensors guarantee temperature uniformity at all time. Both open and closed style tissue bath chambers are capable of running multiple samples at once for maximum working efficiency.

This unit is pre-owned, tested, and fully operational with original pyrex glass two handled basin.
